Abe Lincoln is credited with saying “a lawyer’s time and advice are his stock in trade.” Lawyers are compensated for the time they spend on a case. It’s that simple. We will discuss the issue of attorney’s fees and costs in our initial conference. At the conclusion of our initial conference, we will provide you with a Fee Agreement which sets forth your financial obligations to this office, or you can download a copy of the FEE AGREEMENT here and bring it with you.
I now have two different types of fee arrangements. The most common type is the “retainer” method. The initial payment is anywhere from $1500 to $3000, or higher in unique cases. This money is the client’s money, and is deposited into the attorney’s trust account. This money is only earned by the attorney as he performs legal services on the client’s behalf. The attorney may withdraw these funds only as fees are earned, or expenses incurred.
The second fee structure is the “flat fee” method. This is where the client pays a certain sum for specifically delineated legal services. I also offer initial consultations for up to an hour, with no obligation either way for $200.
"Forrest is professional, thorough and compassionate. He embodies ethics, credibility, and stewardship. Forrest advocated my best interests at all times. I never felt I was just one more in a stack of other files. He gives his full attention to your case, wastes no time, cuts no corners, and brings his education, experience, skills, and peer respect to the courtroom. When extraneous and egregious behaviors were consistent from the opposing party, Forrest stayed the course, stayed focused and transcended gutter tactics calmly with law and reason. I will be forever grateful to him and his support staff for exceeding my expectations. I have already, and will continue to recommend Forrest Wagner whenever possible as the attorney of choice to all prospective clients. I welcome any opportunity to personally speak to anyone who is searching a good divorce attorney concerning this matter and direct them to Forrest's office for my contact information."
